Question: The rise in the number of elderly people is a cause for concern. Discuss.

In developed countries, many people are not very keen on having children. Most of adults in these countries prefer to be fully concentrated on their career than to raise a family. Thus, this trend will give good impact only for the short time term. These countries will continually grow along with these adults become experts in their fields. But if we are talking about the long term, the country’s growth will also stop growing as these experts stop being productive caused by their ages. Therefore, this trend will definitely be a major issue in any country.

The most concern about the rise of elderly number is not only the effect on economic growth, but also gives impact to the nation’s future existence. Without children, regeneration will not exist and the nation’s growth will be limited to the last generation’s life. So, when the last generation is gone, so do the country.

Japan is one of the developed countries lack of children. Many of Japanese choose not to have children. At this age, we can see Japan as a fast growing country. It even has reached the top place for developed country in the world. In contrast, Japan is also known as an old country where the number of elderly is much bigger than children. This condition is being a big concern to the government till they offer precious reward for those who decide to have children. If this condition continues, Japan might be only a history in the next fifty years.
