The Eating Stories!

Pantasteiik!

pantasteiik It begun with our journey to Bogor to take photo shoot of a modified car. After the photo shoot section is done, it was already @ 2 o'clock so we decided to find interesting Bogor Culinary! I called my cousin who lives in Bogor and I ask for her suggestion. Then she offered me some interesting places. At first, we chose Jl. Salak for our lunch experience! From Bogor Lake Side, with that kind of messy and worst Bogor Traffic Jam ever, we went to Jl. Salak. Neither do my boo or I know about Bogor that well so we missed that spot then we turn back to Padjajaran and decided to had lunch @ Pantasteiik Botani Square. Botani Square is located near IPB and also near to the free way to Jakarta. So we thought we don't have to struggle with that kind of worst traffic jam after lunch to go back to Jakarta. Here we are finally made it to Pantasteiik! Pantasteiik itself stands for PANcake - pasTA - sTEIIK (pancake, pasta, and steak -red). It offers unique culinary from eastern to westers and of course includes those Pancake, Pasta, and Steak. I decided to ordered Alfredo Fetucini, while my boo ordered Salmon Fried Rice. For the drinks I orded Blue Something *it's not the real name coz I forgot the name and it colored BLUE! :P* And PabiL ordered Ice Lemon Tea and Coke. We weren't wait so long and our lunch is ready! It's totally HOT!!! And BIG!!! I think they give me a giant portion!! lol But I never regret had my lunch there! It's HOT, BIG, and TASTY!!! Yups!! You really should try it. The price is average about IDR 40 k -50 k. The place is very cozy, the interior design, the mirror every sight so it gives 'bigger' effect to the tiny spot! It's totally recommended! thumbs

Alfredo Fetucini with Egg on top

Look at this delicious Fetucini. It covered with cream source and some mushrooms and smoked beef and a bit of sea food platter. And also added Parmesan cheese. The last but not least, for the egg lovers can choose to have half done egg on top! It's so tasty and yummy and super delicious! drool

Salmon Fried Rice

This Salmon Fried Rice still smoky when they serve it to us! It also very tasty and it has a lot of chopped Salmon inside! I'm not a big fan of well done Salmon, I much prefer Salmon Sashimi, but this one, makes me got an exception! thum

Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang

nasiuduk

There are so plenty of Nasi Uduk in Jakarta that use Kebon Kacang name. But the best of all *in my taste* is this one, Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang Asli H. Suryadi (Kakek) which is located in a small road of Kebon Kacang. It's just a simple old Batavia house. They use the terrace for their hommy 'restaurant'. When we get there, we should choose our own menu in the front table. At that time, Pabil and I took chicken, lung, liver, tofu, prawn, pete, and ampela. *I don't know what they call Pete and Ampela in English* :P After we choose and gave it to the chef, they will fry it and serve the rice *Nasi Uduk* on our table. The Nasi Uduk serving is quite unique as seen below. For 2 (two) people they served 6 (six) packs of Nasi Uduk. And yes, they really know our portion coz it's just so enough for us! And finally, that delicous Nasi Uduk has successfully moved to our stomach!! thumbs

Old Chang Kee

old

Old Chang Kee can be found in many malls in Jakarta. My favorite food from Old Chang Kee is its Fish Ball Satay. For 3 pieces of Fish Balls it costs IDR 7000. They will put it in ? plastic and add chilies in that plastic. It tasted so good. They fried it so perfectly. Not too done but also not too raw. It's just perfect. Unluckily, Old Chang Kee doesn'? provide ? place to eat. It's just ? simple food stall without chairs and tables. So, all items are for take away. Well, since it's not ? main course so you could order the main course at the other restaurant located near to Old Chang Kee stall, then you can buy Old Chang Kee for the side dishes! Isn'? it just simple and great? I think that's what Old Chang Kee all about! blink

Mie Kocok Bandung

mieko

Picture above is the illustration of Siomay Bandung and Mie Kocok Bandung. But in this post I will put the focus on Mie Kocok Bandung. Mie Kocok Bandung is very well known in my family. Surprisingly, it's not that well known among my friends. No wonder most of them doesn't really know about Mie Kocok Bandung cause it's quite hard to fine original Mie Kocok Bandung in Jakarta.

My favorite Mie Kocok Bandung is a homey restaurant located on Jl. Karapitan Bandung. I know this place from my mom. My grand parents’ house was on Jl. Karapitan Bandung before they moved to Jakarta. The other alternative for Mie Kocok Bandung is the one that was in BIP food stall. Unfortunately, that place is already gone. I don't know if they move to other spot in BIP or they already broke and close. That Mie Kocok place in BIP also serves delicious Fresh Durian Juice!!! The price was IDR 15,000 couple years ago. And the juice is 100% pure Durian! Hopefully I could find another place like that in Bandung someday... Coz so far I haven't found it yet.

Eat n' Eat Kelapa Gading is one of our favorite spot to meet. One night we went there and I found this new food stall marked, "Mie Kocok Bandung". I was so happy to see that sign, then I ordered one. Well, the taste is good but not that great like in Bandung. But it's the best taste for Mie Kocok Bandung in Jakarta level. In my suggestion, they should serve extra salt, vinegar, and chili. They also don't have kerupuk kampung which will complete the name of Mie Kocok Bandung!:D

Mie Kocok Bandung in Eat n' Eat is not expensive. With only IDR 15,000 you can have it fill your empty stomach! Yummyyy!!! Bon appetite!

Pistales

Finally!!! After about a month or so I have to pending my passion to try this famous Piscok (Banana filled with melting chocolate wrapped with crepes then deep fried -red). It tasted sooo GOOD!!! I still want more!

We went there on Saturday, 16th January 2010 around 2 o'clock. It was raining, and we can't find any spot to park the car around there. So we went around SMUN 3 Jakarta and finally got the spot to park the car even not too close to Pistales.

Pistales is quite known among Jakarta culinary lovers. It famous by its Pisang Coklat. Pistales itself, stands for PISang - TAhu lapis - risoLES. We tried all the famous menus offered there.

We ordered 3 Pisang Coklat, 2 Tahu Lapis, 1 Risoles, 1 Lumpia, and for drinks we ordered Es Cincau Selasih and Es Teh Tarik 'OWL'. Pisang Coklat costs IDR 3,000 per piece. The other menu costs approximately the same I guess, coz I don't really remember but the thing I remember is they set the price in the normal to low rate.

The place is not too big. It's quite small and only have about 6 tables each for 2 seats. Many people go there take away the snacks. The place is clean and neat. Pistales operation hours is from 9.00 AM to 05.00 PM.
